You are here: Library Welcome to the Airds High Library page Airds High Library supports the school motto "Strive to achieve" by encouraging all students to work towards their personal best, socially and academically. The Library aims to provide a positive learning environment aesthetically and mentally. Staff encourage students to be self-reliant, search beyond the easily-found, organise their work, and self assess their methods of research and presentation. We help students work their way through the Information Skills Process. Reading for leisure and personal knowledge is actively encouraged.
The Library has a large number of resources ( 10,000+) covering both curriculum and leisure needs, including an extensive range of high interest magazines. As well, students have access to computers, internet, printing and photocopying. The Library is open from 8.30 to 3.00 every day. It is open every recess and lunch, unless unforeseen circumstances arise. Students can usually borrow items for two weeks. However Closed Reserve items can only be borrowed overnight. We constantly vary our displays to meet students' needs for any subject. We also pride ourselves with being able to match students with suitable books that will interest them. To show you how dedicated our students and staff are at creating displays, have a squizz at these pictures. Displays this year included: Other displays were based on Fantasy, Valentine's Day & Easter
The school library is unable to function during the many recesses and lunches without the work of the library monitors.... so we thought we should take the time out and show you the hard working monitors...
We hope you enjoyed looking at this site; as we enjoyed making it for you. Ms Jones, Ms Yabsley & Library Monitors
